This project has been brought up with the objective to provide vocational training facility to Tea & Ex Tea Garden Tribes for their self-employment. This arrangement has been necessary to provide such training facility to the target group keeping in view their socio economic condition that doesn’t permit them to avail of such training facility commonly available in places far away from their habitations mostly in far flung rural areas.
Out of 51 SDKC’s, 40 SKDC have since have been handed over to M/s H P Institute of Insurance for Operation and Maintenance of PPP mode w.e.f 19-09-2012

11 centres insides ITI premises are yet to be handed over to private party for operation and maintenance under PPP mode.
It may be mentioned here that as on date total 8421 number of trainees have been enrolled in different trades in different Skill Development Training Centre. Of them, 4270 number of trainees have completed their training in different trades in different Skill Development Training Centre. Out of 4270 those completed training, 2471 candidates have successfully come out in the NCVT certification test. Meanwhile 1425 number of trainees out of 2471 who received NCVT certification have been offered placement in different flagship companies.
Steps taken to include more trades like Turner, Fitter, Wiremen, Driving, Radio, TV, Mobile Phone Repairing, Beauty Culture and Hair Dressing, Cutting, Tailoring, Embroidery etc. phased manner.
At present, training has been imparted in the following trades: Electrician, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, Computer Application, Multipurpose Health Worker, Cutting and Tailoring, Insurance, Banking and Accountancy
