Who Will Benefit?

“Assistance for Higher Studies/ANM,GNM & Para-Medical course etc.”

Name of the scheme The schemes are as follows:
(1)   Financial Assistance for Higher Studies and 
(2)   ANM,GNM & Para-Medical Course etc.
Eligible Criteria Eligible criteria for Financial Assistance for Higher Studies, as given below:-
·         Be a citizen of India.
·         Be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to tea & ex-tea garden tribes.
·         Must produce Caste certificate. The certifying authority is the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district and the Director of Tea Welfare, Govt. of Assam will be the countersigning authority.
·         Must produce admission receipt 
Application should be submitted through head of the concern institutions with the following information :-
(1) Name of the candidate
(2) Age (as on 1st January of that year)
(3) Father's name and permanent address
(4) Full correspondence address
(5) Telephone/Mobile No
(6) Percentage of marks in HSLC/HSSLC and above
(7) Name of the course and duration of study undergoing
(8) Amount of annual course fee
(9) Father's/Guardian's annual income (supported by income certificate)
(10) Name and address of the institution where studying
(11) Caste certificate (TGL)
Eligible criteria for ANM/GNM, B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing  etc., as given below:
·      Be a citizen of India.
·      Be a permanent resident of Assam and must belongs to tea & ex-tea garden tribes.
·      Must produce Caste certificate. The certifying authority is the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district and the Director of Tea Welfare, Govt. of Assam will be the countersigning authority.
·      For ANM course minimum qualification for selection of candidates is HSSLC (10+2) or equivalent and or as per latest guidelines of Indian Nursing Council (INC).
·      For GNM courses minimum qualification for selection of candidates is HSSLC (10+2) Science or equivalent and or as per latest guidelines of Indian Nursing Council (INC).
·      For B. Sc. Nursing minimum qualification for selection of candidates is HSSLC (Science) (10+2) equivalent with Physic, Chemistry, Biology with a minimum 45 % marks in the above mentioned subject taken together SC, ST, OBC/MOBC candidates as per latest guidelines of Indian Nursing Council (INC).
·      Age: ANM students have to be in the age limit of 17-24 years on 1st January of the year of Admission. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for SC. ST, OBC/MOBC candidates.
·      Age: GNM/B.Sc. Nursing etc. course students have to be in the age limit of 17-24 years on 1st January of the year of Admission. Upper age limit is relax able by 5 years for SC. ST, OBC/MOBC candidates.
·      Only Female candidates are to apply.
·      Physically Handicapped are also to apply.
Selection of process The Sub-Divisional Selection Committee will select the list of students and submit to this Directorate. 
The Director will take the approval of the State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) while finalizing the list of beneficiaries.
The selected list received from Sub-Division will be put to State Level Advisory Committee (SLAC) for approval. The SLAC comprise as follows:

“Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship”

Name of the scheme The schemes as follows:
(1)   Pre-Matric Scholarship
(2)   Post-Matric Scholarship
Eligible Criteria Eligible criteria for Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship, as given below:
·      The Pre-Matric Scholarship is awarded to students from Class -IX to Class X and Post-Matric Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing studies beyond Class X inclusive of college and university studies.
·      Scholarships are paid to students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1,50,000/- per annum (for Pre-Matric). And Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum (post-Matric).
·      All children of the same parents/guardians are eligible.
·      Tea Tribes candidates who have passed the matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of secondary Education are eligible.
 
·      The scholarships are available for the study of all recognized post matriculation or post secondary course in recognized institutions except certain identified training courses like Engineer’s course, private pilot License course etc.
·      Students studying through correspondence course are eligible.
·      The scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
·      Students who have received coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible.

“Grants to Women SHGs”

Name of the scheme Grants to Women SHGs
Criteria for selection of beneficiary The Sub-Divisional Beneficiary Selection Committee shall select the SHGs based on the following criteria:
a)     The Self Help Groups (SHGs) should comprise of minimum 10 - 20 members.
b)     All members of the SHG shall be comprised of the age group of between 18 years to 59 years.
c)     The Self Help Groups (SHGs) should be enrolled in the respective Block Development offices and Block Mission Management Units (BMMU) of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM).
d)     All members should be Indian citizens and should be  permanent residents of Assam 
e)     All members of the group must belong to tea & ex-tribes’ communities.
f)     The photographs of all members should be submitted along-with the application.
g)     Allocation for the no. of SHGs to be considered from each of the 46 Sub-Divisions will be done considering the population of the Tea & Ex-Tea Tribes communities in the Sub-Divisions.
h)     The SDWO shall forward the list of selected SHGs to the Directorate along-with his recommendation.
i)      The beneficiary SHGs will be provided with the grants directly to their bank accounts through DBT mode.
j)      SHGs once covered under the scheme shall not be entitled for consideration of another grant for at least 3 (three) years. 


“Coaching for Higher Studies”

Name of the scheme Coaching for Higher Studies
Criteria for selection of beneficiary The criteria for selection of students/candidates shall be as  given below:-
a)     He/she should be a citizen of India.
b)     He/she be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to tea tribes’ community.
c)     The candidate must produce a Caste certificate. The certifying authority is the Deputy Commissioner/SDO (C) of the concerned district.
d)     He/she must produce necessary documents for undergoing the coaching.
e)     Candidates must secure a requisite percentage of marks in the qualifying examination prescribed for the desired coaching, based on the available seats.
f)      30% of the numbers sanctioned for coaching shall be earmarked for girl students/candidates.
